چکیده

A ‘Chen space’ is a set X equipped with a collection of ‘plots’ — maps from convex sets to X — satisfying three simple axioms. While an individual Chen space can be much worse than a smooth manifold, the category of all Chen spaces is much better behaved than the category of smooth manifolds. For example, any subspace or quotient space of a Chen space is a Chen space, and the space of smooth maps between Chen spaces is again a Chen space. Souriau’s ‘diffeological spaces’ share these convenient properties. Here we give a unified treatment of both formalisms. Following ideas of Penon and Dubuc, we show that Chen spaces, diffeological spaces, and even simplicial complexes are examples of ‘concrete sheaves on a concrete site’. As a result, the categories of such spaces are locally cartesian closed, with all limits, all colimits, and a weak subobject classifier. For the benefit of differential geometers, our treatment explains most of the category theory we use.

Models of Linear Logic based on the Schwartz $\varepsilon$-product

From the interpretation of Linear Logic multiplicative disjunction as the ε-product defined by Laurent Schwartz, we construct several models of Differential Linear Logic based on usual mathematical notions of smooth maps. This improves on previous results in [BET] based on convenient smoothness where only intuitionist models were built. We isolate a completeness condition, called k-quasi-comple...

Differentiability, Convenient Spaces and Smooth Diffeologies

We review the basic definitions and properties concerning smooth structures, convenient spaces, diffeological spaces and tangent structures. The relation between the first two is described. A tangent structure is constructed for each pre-convenient space. This one is proved to be convenient if and only if the space and the tangent fibres

Smooth biproximity spaces and P-smooth quasi-proximity spaces

The notion of smooth biproximity space  where $delta_1,delta_2$ are gradation proximities defined by Ghanim et al. [10]. In this paper, we show every smooth biproximity space $(X,delta_1,delta_2)$ induces a supra smooth proximity space $delta_{12}$ finer than $delta_1$ and $delta_2$. We study the relationship between $(X,delta_{12})$ and the $FP^*$-separation axioms which had been introduced by...

The homotopy theory of diffeological spaces

Diffeological spaces are generalizations of smooth manifolds. In this paper, we study the homotopy theory of diffeological spaces. We begin by proving basic properties of the smooth homotopy groups that we will need later. Then we introduce the smooth singular simplicial set S(X) associated to a diffeological space X, and show that when S(X) is fibrant, it captures smooth homotopical properties...

Hille-yosida Theory in Convenient Analysis

A Hille-Yosida Theorem is proved on convenient vector spaces, a class, which contains all sequentially complete locally convex spaces. The approach is governed by convenient analysis and the credo that many reasonable questions concerning strongly continuous semigroups can be proved on the subspace of smooth vectors. Examples from literature are reconsidered by these simpler methods and some ap...
